burda kids patterns 1970 - 1974

Some more pics from my mums burda collection. I love these cute kids clothes, the little dress is adorable with the pocket detail and the coat has a lovely unusual button styling. How short are they though!

This is a teenager pattern, cute wrap top with amazing bell sleeves. Don't you just adore that fabric?

These outfits (above and below) are so adorable, and practical too. I love the short pullover/dress (above) and the pant suit (below) that patterned jersey fabric is pretty cool too.

These knitted his/hers jumpers are so reminiscent of star wars outfits, they would be perfect for the new batch of fans.

i love the top outfits, i would love the dress with the pocket detail for myself...the dresses are awful short for young girls but hey i suppose that was the trend back then...

the wrap top with bells sleeves is adorable too (it hasn't dated at all)

thanks for sharing these photos...

I was a preteen/teen in the 70s. My dresses (and those of my friends) were the right length if the hem ended about my second finger joint if I let my arms hang by my sides.

And if our moms didn't make them short enough, we rehemmed them. Or rolled our skirt waistbands up.

Yes, really, really short. But we all wore them like that.
